If you are an overseas teacher of English (specialising in teenage and adult students) and want to improve your mastery of the English language, discover new methodology, and learn about British culture, then you will find this 2 week course very useful.  You will study in school for 21 hours per week and can also take part in organised cultural activities in London.

You will study both advanced English and various aspects of methodology such as phonology & connected speech; writing - cohesion & coherence; error correction; listening - authentic texts & modern materials.

If you are from a country which is a member of the European Union, you can apply for Comenius 2.2c or Grundtvig 3 funding. This course appears in the Lifelong Learning Programme (formerly Socrates) database with the course code UK-2007-486-7 and funding is available to help you with the cost of your course and living expenses while in London.  More information about these grants and how to apply are available from the Comenius and Grundtvig National Agencies. If you wish to apply for funding, please contact us for further information.

We also organise teacher refresher courses throughout the year for closed groups.

Students speak

"The well thought out programme, due consideration of the professional interests of the professors, the efficient Excel English teachers and the exciting tours of London, have made an unforgettable impression on each member of the group.  All the professors appreciated the professionalism and effort put into carrying out the teacher training project.  The open and friendly atmosphere in the classroom and the school in general, which served as an example of good management, made it possible to acquire a deeper knowledge of British life and culture.  It also stimulated lively discussions.
