Purpose    
CPE is a general test of English ability.  The exam was first developed as an academic test of English for students intending to teach English in their own countries. It is well known by employers especially in Western Europe.  It is accepted by British universities as proof of English level for entry onto an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

Pass Grades given from A to C.  C = average pass; B = good pass; A = excellent pass.
