School Building & Gardens
You will find the atmosphere in the school very friendly and good for both studying and making friends. We encourage you to treat the school as your home and to use it before and after your lessons for Internet access, extra study, talking to your friends, and simply enjoying the gardens.
Watch a video of the school.
You will enjoy being at Excel English because of our specially designed building and modern facilites. The school building was created especially for Excel English. It is light and airy with interesting shaped rooms and a very special character.
In our building you will find -
-
9 comfortable classrooms with whiteboards, professional tape mach ines, TV & video and overhead projectors.
-
a computer room with free Internet access.
-
a large library / self access centre with a beautiful view of trees. In the library, there are worksheets, tape machines and tapes, reading books, videos, DVDs, university prospectuses and details of other non academic courses. You can also borrow library materials to do work at home.
-
a cafeteria -this is where you can meet your friends, buy drinks and snacks, have lunch, collect your letters, use the Wireless Internet connection, and even do some studying. The cafeteria opens into the gardens and we also use it for many social activities such as quizzes, video afternoons and parties.
-
a student services office - probably the first place you will visit in the school. You will come here for information, to buy tickets for social activities, to book accommodation or course extensions, to pick up any parcels you've been sent, and to talk to the Registrar or Vice Principal.
The ground floor of the school is designed for full wheelchair access.

You will also feel relaxed because the gardens at Excel English are very large and peaceful and the school is situated away from the main road. The gardens include many large trees as well as flowerbeds and landscaped sitting areas.
There is also a natural woodland to explore. The views across London from the woodland path are outstanding. Some of the trees are very old. One giant oak tree is estimated to be 450 years old.
Because the gardens are so large and some of them contain wild areas, you will see many birds, squirrels and possibly even our own resident fox.
The land occupied by Excel English also has a very interesting history, and connections with visitors from overseas going back at least 100 years. |
